About Anthony Gregory

I was born January 3, 1981 to Alfred and Kil Cha Gregory. I have a brother named Duane, happily married with two daughters. I was born in Fairfax County, Virginia, but moved to San Jose, California as a baby.

I graduated in May of 2003 with a B.A. in history from the University of California Berkeley. I now live in Berkeley. My interests include liberty, music, literature, movies, other kinds of art and entertainment, history, economics and good food.

I am Editor in Chief of Ron PaulÕs Campaign for Liberty and a research analyst at The Independent Institute, a libertarian public policy research organization in Oakland, California. I am also a policy advisor to The Future of Freedom Foundation, a guest editor for Strike the Root, a columnist for LewRockwell.com, a blogger at Liberty and Power and a writer for various other publications.

So I am a libertarian. While at UC Berkeley, I was very active in the Cal Libertarians, of which I was president for two years. My last semester I coordinated a class with a friend of mine about liberty and discourse, in which we were able to present a history of the United States from an unusually libertarian perspective. I also wrote my undergraduate thesis around that time, about government/media relations surrounding the 1993 Waco, Texas massacre.

I am also a musician. I play bass and sing in, and write songs for, a band called the Melatones. We play all kinds of music, all under the very vague category "rock." Aside from playing bass, I also play piano and guitar. IÕve written hundreds of songs and composed numerous instrumental pieces.

My favorite musical acts include Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Ween, Phish, Frank Zappa, Two Foot Yard, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, early Metallica, Pink Floyd, Simon and Garfunkel, Weird Al, Elliott Smith, and many more.

I like movies and paintings and drawing and stuff like that too. I love The Dark Knight, Ratatouille, PanÕs Labyrinth, The Big Lebowski, Empire Strikes Back, Deathtrap, The Producers, The Matrix, Adaptation, Gangs of New York, Silence of the Lambs, Sleeper, Terminator, Gone With The Wind, Cool Hand Luke, National LampoonÕs Vacation, Pinocchio, Full Metal Jacket, Psycho Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Mulholland Drive, Monty Python and the Life of Brian, Finding Nemo, Nightmare on Elm Street and other movies like that. My favorite television shows are the Wire, House, The Practice, Picket Fences, ItÕs Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Chicago Hope, Curb Your Enthusiasm, the Twilight Zone, Arrested Development, South Park, Seinfeld, Simpsons, and Saturday Night Live (70s, 86-94 mostly). The Colbert Report and Daily Show are good too.

I love too many foods to list. I know what to order.

I am an Eagle Scout. I use a Macintosh.

Peace,

Anthony
