Wondered

By Anthony Gregory

With you, whatever we'd do,

Satiated

Some penetrating desires within.

Life was so much sweeter

And somehow a bit more honest.

I wondered.

As I dreamt of you,

So frustrated,

This gap of time before the time when

I'd once again meet her

And celebrate the circumstances upon us.

I wondered.

And I looked at you,

Pixelated,

With artificial breaks in your skin

Every centimeter

Where the toner broke its promise.

I wondered.

Why did I print you anyway?

Take you with me in the car to remind.

Take you with me in the car to rewind.

Take you with me in the car to reblind.

Take you with me in the car to resign.

I resign. Take you with me in the car.

And I glanced at you,

Half elated,

That whatever I got myself in,

This four-seater

Has got your image as its strongest

Wonder.
